The icon of the Wild West, white, black and Mexican alike herded the vast herds of cattle.

Standard battle arena is prairie/desert with a few cow skeletons. Cowboy has Winchester rifle, Colt Single Action Army revolver, lasso, and Bowie knife. Arab has Mauser Model 1871 rifle(carbine variant), Smith & Wesson Model 3 revolver, Scimitar, and Khanjar dagger.

Looks like a good match-up !

The most important difference seems to be in the rifles' rate of fire. I don't have figures for the Winchester rifle - but for the Henry rifle (on which it was based), it was 28 rounds per minute - so I assume the Winchester would be something similar. Meanwhile, the Mauser Model 1871 could fire only four or five rounds per minute.

Based on that, I think the cowboy has the advantage here. Doesn't matter if he misses a few shots... he's got way more than his opponent, and he only needs to land one (it's not like either of them is wearing a bulletproof vest here )

I thought people would back the Arab but I guess not. 
Both are great fighters in their own right and while the Arab’s bolt-action is more advanced than the lever action rifle used by the cowboy and has stronger rounds, the faster firing rate is what tips the scales. Neither would be armored so all it takes is one well placed shot.

I’m pretty sure bolt action rifles have stronger rounds than Winchester rifles. So the Arab might actually win this.

Well, he probably will, if he can score a hit early on . But all else being equal, I think the cowboy is more likely to score early hits, simply due to his gun having a far higher rate of fire.

I don't think the Arab can win a war of attrition here... either he one-shots the cowboy early on, or he loses.

Arab, more well-rounded. I feel like it would depend on what weapons were there and the terrain though. Either way, close battle.

The OP describes the weapons and the terrain is a prairie with cow skeletons to pay homage to both Tales of the Arabian Nights and Westerns. It's also the sort of terrain both warriors excel in. And yes, the Arab wins as he's like to be better trained, more experienced, DOMINATES melee, and his ranged weapons aren't too inferior to that of the cowboy.
Dang! Forgot to mention they've got cool victory cries.
