Time for another of these threads, I think . And this time, it's the novelty bubblegum pop song, Sugar, Sugar (not the most lyrically complex of songs, by any means - but there are still several versions of it out there )
The original was the following, by cartoon band The Archies, released in May 1969:
The following year, in April 1970, Wilson Pickett released the following version:
Then there's this version by Bob Marley and the Wailers. It was recorded some time in 1969-70, but it wasn't released outside Jamaica - until it showed up on a compilation album in 1998 :
So, which version is your favourite? And do you have any others that you'd recommend?
