The reviews for the second series are in - and, they're rather mixed. Some reviewers loved it - while others considered it to be a let-down:

I've only seen two episodes so far - but for now, I'm enjoying it even more than the first series . Still, I'll have to wait until I've seen the whole thing before I can give my final verdict!

So far, I've seen four episodes - and, I am still enjoying it !

One thing I will comment on is that I'm finding it a lot harder to get emotionally invested in the characters this time around - because after what happened to most of them in the first series, I don't see a lot of point . I suppose I'm expecting things to turn out horribly - and it'll be a nice surprise for me if that doesn't happen .

Also, I'm not sure I needed to see the organ harvesting subplot again - although, I am glad one of the guards is sabotaging it by killing the contestants whose organs would've been taken.

I never thought this show could make me want to see the players being shot dead - but, here we are!

Well, I've finished the new series now - and, I did enjoy it, but I have a few thoughts:

First of all: they did manage to keep it compelling. Which I think is quite an achievement: the first series relied on the element of surprise, and the second series obviously wouldn't have that. But they did still throw some curveballs .

However, I do wish this series was a bit longer. We only got 7 episodes this time - and we only got 3 games (4 if you count the 'special game'). To be honest, it felt like half a series!

The final episode was epic. But, it did force me to suspend my disbelief pretty heavily... I'm surprised the players held out for so long, given how heavily-outnumbered and outgunned they were - and I'm stunned that Front Man (Player 001) allowed them to go through with their plot for as long as he did!

I feel like this season should've been titled "Squid Game 2 (Part I)". With season 1 the show felt completed though there are some parts in the last episode that sparked our curiosity. But they did it very well and it didn't make me feel "huh? what?" like the second season's last episode.

Why is Gi-hun so trusting of Player 001 to begin with?

"Young-il" is a very fake sounding name: it's Korean for 'zero one' (as Gi-hun himself points out ). And even if it weren't for that: did he not forget that, the last time he bonded with a player numbered 001, they turned out the be the man behind the entire operation? Evidently, he did forget - because he did exactly the same thing all over again .

I feel like this is a case of "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me"...

Oh yeah, I was expecting some sort of flashback scene for Gi-hun. It was kinda frustrating to see lol
