Post any bugs/issues here!
#21
Thanks - I'll look into installing that this evening :)

BTW, all of the posts about Reputation and Likes have been moved into a separate thread (here), since I think it's worth a proper discussion.

  • The board loads more slowly than I would like it to. On my system, pages often take a second or two to load - which doesn't sound to bad, but it does add up. I did make some changes over the last couple of days to speed things up; however, it's still noticeably slower than ZetaBoards. Sadly, I can't think of much else to speed it up (but I don't think it's the fault of Megan's hosting, because her sites load very quickly!)

Are you using any of MyBB's available cache backends? Does your host provide memcached (recommended) or any of the other supported cache systems for MyBB? If so you can configure it like this, which may improve page load speeds:

- Find this setting within your inc/config.php file:
PHP Code:
$config['cache_store'] = 'db'

- Change the value to memcached:
PHP Code:
$config['cache_store'] = 'memcached'

- Edit your memcached config host and port values to reflect the configuration of the available memcached server:
PHP Code:
$config['memcache']['host'] = 'localhost';
$config['memcache']['port'] = 11211

This of course depends on a number of factors, such as your host having the php-memcached extension installed, and there indeed being a memcached service on the server for MyBB to make use of. Your host should be able to give you this information.

Nope, haven't set any of that up. Thanks for the suggestion!

I guess Megan will have to confirm whether this is possible on our host.

(I will also note that the speed isn't as bad now as it was when I started this topic - but, further speed improvements are always welcome :D )

Since we're about to go public, I've updated the topic title, and left this open to anyone to post issues :) .

When I try and post my intro thread, I gets some of this...
Quote:Authorization code mismatch. Are you accessing this function correctly? Please go back and try again.

I can't find that I'm overlooking anything either? :/

EDIT: Nevermind. I just got out of it, and started over again and it worked.

Thanks for reporting this :)

I did a bit of digging, and I found that one of the PHP files had some junk left over from a failed plugin installation. I suspect this may have been responsible, so I've reverted the offending file.

Hopefully, that will be the last of this!

CJ had goofed on some of the other groups, probably did on yours as well.
