Okay, so, out of all of the boards in the "Topical Discussions" section, the "Health and Lifestyle" one has been easily the most successful. I'm glad so many people are enjoying it .
However, its purpose has drifted over time. Originally, I was intending for it to be primarily about health: lifestyle was thrown in too (mainly to give the 'Food and Drink' sub-forum somewhere to go, instead of being stuck in General Chat), but I had planned for the bulk of the topics there to be health-oriented (for example, stuff about medical research). Over time, though, the 'lifestyle' side of this board has become increasingly dominant; for example, with the success of threads like "Shops and restaurants that no longer exist" and "Are indoor malls a thing of the past?". This means that, when I do try to start a strictly health-oriented thread (for example, "Aging process reversed in human cells"), it looks very out of place alongside all the lifestyle stuff (and it gets drowned out by the lifestyle topics anyway).
So, what I propose is that we re-name the "Health and Lifestyle" board to "Real Life". All of the food and fashion topics would still be covered by this, as would many of the health-oriented threads: things like "Have you had chicken pox?" are still very much relevant to 'real life', so those would stay put. The only things that wouldn't go in this forum any more are the medical science threads: these would be moved to the Intellectual Curiosity Chamber (where they're probably more at home anyway).
So, should I do this?
