"Great work :D !" Sean applauded Greg. "Now, what about a 'K'? That glyph consists of three lines with a circle in the middle."

Sean scanned around for the symbol he had just described. Unfortunately, he could only find one - and it was on the opposite side of the grid to where Greg was standing. It was clearly out of jumping range. "Hmm, how are you going to get over there?"

Sean checked the roof for any rope swings, or anything else which Greg could use to traverse the room to the 'K' glyph. Sadly, there was nothing in sight - so, Sean began to think of other possible words.

"Well, it could be Shamara - OH, WAIT :D !!!"

With a sudden flash of inspiration, Sean realised that, while the 'K' was a long way from Greg, it was very close to him. As a result, he could easily step straight onto it - which, sure enough, caused it to light up like the previous ones. Furthermore, he quickly found another upturned triangle to serve as the next 'A' - and then, right in front of that, he discovered a 'T', which was one of the few Mayardian glyphs that resembled its Latin counterpart.

"Nobody ever said you had to do this alone :D !!! Now, can anyone see another A? This one should be underlined, to indicate a stress mark."

Albany was feeling a bit stressed about the situation, but she scanned her notepad for the symbol. She had written a few of the letters down in haste, so it became a bit tricky to decipher her own writing, let alone find the right letter. But, sure enough, she found it.

"There's one there!" She circled it for good measure, and turned back to her companions.

She eagerly pointed to a corner of the room, not too far from where Greg was now standing.

"Do you think you can reach it?"

Greg merely shrugged. He prepared a moment, then jumped over to it. He made it, barely, nearly falling over in the process.

From here, there were only two glyphs to go. The 'NG' tile happened to be right next to the 'T' on which Sean was standing; and the 'I' was only a short hop across from the 'Á' which Greg had just landed on.

As Greg landed on this final 'I' tile, the floor began to rumble. Then, one by one, the unlit tiles began to flip over, revealing bare, unmarked slate on their undersides. Once these were all locked back into place, a single ray of light flashed down from the cavern ceiling, illuminating the central pillar with the two Mayardian gems.

"Good work, guys :D !" Sean cheered, as he dashed across the floor, to retrieve his reward. He first picked up the left-most one, whose base was lined with a vibrant lime-green band; however, Sean couldn't see the second band at first. He decided to hold it under light in order to get a closer look - at which point, he managed to pick out a jet-black band, which was barely distinguishable from the obsidian into which it was carved.

"This is Medusa's Moonstone," Sean explained. "The wielder becomes immune to poison of all kinds. However, it also turns them completely blind. And, next to it is... wait, where did the other one go :-/ ?"

"Huh, that's cool!" Albany joined her companions in the room, also wanting to examine the new find. She was writing down all these names and effects in her journal.

"Wait you guys...there was a second one? I didn't see it." She looked over to where Sean had retrieved the moonstone, but there was nothing there.

“Maybe it’s invisible?” Greg suggested with a shrug, as he leaned against a wall.

RE: Three Keys to Freedom - Pyrite - 07-18-2019

"Maybe if we get off the tiles, it will come back?" Albany suggested. "It might be shy!"

Sean pored over the floor, to check that the cylinder hadn't rolled off somewhere. It was a frustrating exercise - but, after a few minutes of meticulous searching, he finally found it. It was lying on a tile bearing three horizontal straight lines with a circle above the top one (the symbol for the Mayardian letter 'TL') - but, as Sean's luck would have it, the cylinder was resting directly across the middle line, making it very hard to spot.

As Sean picked it up and began examining it, he picked out a faint copper band across the top of the base - which would surely have gleamed spectacularly when it was new, but which had since lost its lustre. Beneath it was a band of turquoise, which Sean thought contested quite nicely with the copper - although, he wasn't overly impressed with the combination of powers that they represented.

"This is the Kardashian Carnelian", Sean grimaced with disgust. "If you clip it to your belt, everything you own will become ten times more valuable. However, your intelligence is reduced to one-tenth of what it normally is  ..."

Greg smirked at this. “Then you should put it on!” He said with a laugh.

RE: Three Keys to Freedom - Pyrite - 07-27-2019

"I don't wanna wear that", Albany chimed in. "Even if it does look pretty."

She was keen to move on from this topic, before anyone actually thought to clip it on.

"We should go through the chamber and see what's up ahead!"
