Greg snorted. “Of course it isn’t. We can’t trust any of these people!”

"Well I thought it was a nice thing to do", Albany huffed. She walked off down the corridor leaving the other two trailing behind.

After about half a minute of mental to-ing and fro-ing, Sean decided it was best to leave the note behind - so, he placed it down as initially planned, and then dashed forwards to try and catch up with Albany. By the time he did, he was starting to tire from the physical and mental strain of the previous tasks - but he knew he couldn't rest just yet.

"So... any idea what the next task ahead of us might be?"

(OOC: I really need to update the map in the opening post, don't I  ?)

“Probably something stupid.” Greg grumbled as he followed along.

"Well, we definitely need to find a gem that gives us some heat resistance, for that little hole", Albany noted. "I hope we encounter some more puzzles, though. I love puzzles."

She had more of a spring in her step now, as her leg was beginning to heal.

Sure enough, the next room was indeed another puzzle chamber. In the centre of the room was a large pair of rusty iron scales, with each tray about two feet across. And scattered around the edge of the chamber were ten lumps of different rocks and minerals - in various shapes and sizes.

"Okay, I guess we need to put these rocks on the scales, in such a way that they balance perfectly," Sean deduced. "Shouldn't be too hard..."

RE: Three Keys to Freedom - Megan - 12-26-2022

Greg raised an eyebrow. “Doesn’t that seem a little bit too easy? And lame?”

RE: Three Keys to Freedom - Pyrite - 12-29-2022

"Maybe there's a trick to it", Albany noted. She went over to pick up the first rock, which was golden in appearance. However, picking it up revealed to be significantly lighter than she'd first thought.

"This must be fool's gold!" she exclaimed with some excitement. Perhaps the other minerals also aren't what they seem to be?

RE: Three Keys to Freedom - Kyng - 01-07-2023

"Yeah, this isn't gonna be as easy as it looks," Sean agreed. "After we unbalance the scales by putting the first rock on... there will be 512 ways to put the remaining nine rocks on. And potentially only one of those will work. And that's not even taking into account the fact that the correct solution might not involve using all ten rocks... we might have to leave some of them off :-/ ..."

“Ugh…this is why I hate this dumb puzzle crud.” Greg complained kicking one of the rocks.
