Now for another one that won't be surprising: the last thing I read was the latest edition of The Railway Magazine :P .

"Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops"

Title says all, really. My favourite was a customer who bought a book of knitting patterns, and was then surprised that the bookshop didn't also sell wool and knitting needles. The bookseller explained that, if the shop sold all the items that were relevant to their books, then they would also have to stock items like gardening tools, sewing machines, cooking ingredients and paintbrushes. The customer's response to this was "What are you talking about? I don't need any of those things. I only need wool and knitting needles. I'm not going to knit with a paintbrush!"

I'm reading "The Almanac of American History" by Arthur M. Schlesinger Jr.

If you like American history and want to know more about, then this a must read.

Unraced

It's a book about Formula One cars that were built, but never raced. The chapter I read was about the McLaren MP4-18 (which was interesting, although you needed to be fluent in Ronspeak in order to understand half of it  !)
