"Well, that's understandable," Aliana acknowledged. "It is a big commitment. But, as for what if it doesn't work out... then, all I can suggest is that you have something in your life that you care about, that you can fall back on. That could be your writing; it could be Squeaks; it could be anything, as long as it's nothing to do with me. But the main point is, it needs to be something that allows you to be mentally healthy as your own independent person - so that you don't just turn yourself into an extension of me."

Kyle sighed and nodded. “Okay.” He said. Well, I could always go to sleep if it doesn’t...aunt Cassandra said she would if I can’t do it... Kyle thought to himself.

Since she was unable to read Kyle's mind, Aliana smiled and nodded. "Okay... I'm glad we've got that sorted . So... anything else you'd like to do now, or anything else you'd like to talk about?"

Aliana was a little surprised that Kyle wasn't asking for kisses - although, she herself wasn't in a particularly romantic mood anyway, so she didn't complain.

"Okay... in that case, I'll go and tell Mum and Dad," she announced, as she moved to the door to leave. "See you again later!"

Aliana immediately headed to her parents' room, in order to update them on her most recent discussion with Kyle.

"Kyle stuck with his previous decision... he's okay with me delaying taking the throne," she announced. "But he did seem pretty reluctant... he didn't want to mess things up with me. Also, even though the aim is for him to marry me, he clearly can't do it right now... he doesn't really seem to trust me, and he's still very nervous around me . We need to rebuild his trust first, as well as his confidence..."

Cassandra nodded. “Well from we talked to him the other night he seemed like he was just very frustrated with things...think he’s scared of disappointing or angering you which is probably why he’s nervous around you. I think you should just try spending more time with him for now...”

"Okay, that makes sense," Aliana agreed. "Probably the best way to rebuild his trust... don't impose any work-related things on him, and just act like a normal partner. Perhaps I should also sneak him some confidence potion... although, since it's expensive, that's obviously not a viable long-term solution ..."
