Aliana winced, as she moved over to comfort Kyle.
"I'm not sure it is... I think maybe you're being too hard on yourself," she suggested. "And even if it
is dumb... it'll give you the experience you need to write better things in the future. You can't expect to
immediately be good at everything... you'll need to practise, practise, practise. But, as you keep the effort up, you'll find yourself getting better and better - until, one day, you're an expert. But you'll only get there if you commit yourself to it."

“It’s still dumb.” Kyle insisted. “I don’t even know why I did it to begin with..but...I guess you can see it...” he said putting his boots back on and moving back to the castle.

As Kyle hovered back into the castle, Aliana finally let go of his leash, to allow him to return to his room.
When he got back, she looked around at some of the drawers next to his desk. "So... where are they? And can I take a look, please?"

Kyle sighed, before going over to his bed and reaching under the mattress pulling out a big wad of papers he had written on. Reluctantly he handed them over to Aliana.
Once she was able to look at them it was obvious that Kyle had been writing some kind of stories...

As she read through these stories, Aliana gave out several quiet gasps: they were far better stories than Kyle had given himself credit for. Admittedly, they were all still rough drafts - he hadn't made any attempt to refine them - but, the potential was clearly there.
"These are... actually lovely
," Aliana confessed, with a light blush. "My favourite was the one about the mermaid with the jade necklace... was that based on me, by any chance
?

Kyle's face turned bright red. He quickly looked away. "I...I don't know what you're talking about..." he said. "I told you it's rubbish..."
RE: Reconciliation -
Kyng - 12-25-2020
"It isn't!" Aliana insisted. "In fact, you should probably show these to more people... I think Mum might like to see them, for example. And perhaps Lydia too... but, it certainly shouldn't stay hidden in your drawers forever. That would be an awful waste..."
RE: Reconciliation -
Megan - 12-25-2020
Kyle looked to Aliana his face still red. He quickly shook his head. “No way! Who’d even want to? Besides I don’t want anyone to see them. They’re dumb.”
RE: Reconciliation -
Kyng - 12-25-2020
Aliana groaned at this - and proceeded to remind him of what she'd said earlier.
"Kyle, the idea is that you're supposed to be doing something
useful, to contribute to the castle. If you're just going to hide your writing away like this - then, it's not useful, and it's functionally no different from if you hadn't done it at all. And it doesn't get you any closer to being a functioning adult... I'm sorry, but I can't marry a man-child who just wimps out of everything like this."
RE: Reconciliation -
Megan - 12-25-2020
“But...if anyone else read it they’d laugh...besides...they’re just stories...besides what use would they be to anyone?” He asked frowning.
