Minecraft Treehouse Contest - Kyng - 11-09-2018


Welcome to the 11th instalment of our series of Minecraft contests! It's been a while since I did one of these (P73 did the 10th one, and the 9th one was almost a year ago), so I thought I should do another one . 

This time, I thought I should do something that's popular within Minecraft, but hasn't been covered in a contest yet: build a treehouse!

Rules are as follows:
 

• What you can build: Build a house up a tree . You can use any kind of tree you want, as long as it occurs naturally within the Minecraft universe. This includes the huge variants found in Jungles and Mega Taiga (indeed, you're encouraged to use these!), and it also includes more exotic variants (like Chorus Trees, and even Giant Mushrooms, which I'm defining as 'trees' for the purposes of this contest ).
  
  The treehouse must include a Crafting Table, a Furnace, a Chest, and a Bed (which must be made safe from mobs). Also, there must be some means of accessing the treehouse from ground level (e.g. by means of ladders or vines).
  
  
• Maximum size: This is slightly more difficult than usual, since you'll all be using trees of variable sizes . Let's just say, nothing you build can be more than 5 blocks away from the tree. 
  
  I'm afraid I won't be allowing any exceptions to the size limit this time. Unfortunately, when I tried to be flexible in the Garden Contest, it just got confusing  .
  
  
• Number of entries: Each person may enter up to three treehouses; however, only one entry by each person will be counted towards the final results;
  
  
• Closing date: This contest will close on Sunday, 2nd December 2018 at 11:59pm GMT. After this, a poll will be started with all of the entries to decide the winner.
  
  
• Prizes: Prizes are increased now, in order to conform to the new rates:
  • 1st place: 2500 Coffee Credits (+ a  Pink Ribbon, if at least 3 people enter and the poll isn't tied);
    
  • 2nd place: 1500 Coffee Credits
    
  • 3rd place: 1000 Coffee Credits
    
  • 4th place: 500 Coffee Credits
    
  • Anyone else: 250 Coffee Credits, as long as they receive at least 2 votes

Darn, I was going to enter the treehouse I made for my survival world but it a) uses custom trees and b) likely goes more than five blocks from the trunk.

As a question, can we add onto the existing tree, or must it remain completely untouched? i.e. could we flesh out the bottom of the trunk, or should it remain how it would be naturally? I expect the tree is to stay as it grew, but just want to be sure.

You can flesh out the bottom of the trunk, yes, as long as you don't go more than 5 blocks from the 'natural' tree.

Just gonna archive this because it looks unlikely that we'll get any entries, and I don't want to grant another extension because then this will interfere with the Christmas contests which are starting next week.
