If you could name a star, nebula, etc, what would you call it? Would you go with how it looked like some are named for? Or would you have it be something out of the ordinary?
I honestly would go with how it looked. I feel it would stand out better & hence be remembered better.

If it looked like anything distinctive, then yes, I'd name it after that. But, if not... I'd probably give it some thematic name based on when/how it was discovered (for example, I might name it after a scientist whose birthday was on the date I discovered it

)
