Although many are still calling it Scream 5, it is actually considered a full reboot of the franchise. I myself saw this movie twice. Once was last night and then again this morning. I personally did my share of both laughing as well as crying. Please keep in mind their will be full spoilers in this review so if you haven't yet seen the movie, this is your only warning.
The biggest red herring in my opinion came from a past interview Neve Campbell once did. In the interview she stated that, "If she agreed to do another movie, Sidney had to be one of the victims." This led me to believe she would be. Well, after seeing the movie, I am shocked. She lived and came out as one of the heroes as usual." One thing I am pleased about in regards to Sidney is she is now both married to Mark Kincaid(Scream 3 cop) as well as a mom.
The one member of the core 3 who died happened to be the much loved former sheriff himself. That's right. It was Dewey Riley himself. Grab the tissues before watching this movie. You will be crying during that scene. He did die a hero. He was protecting the Carpenter sisters. I have a feeling him and Gale would have gotten back together. Yes, they did divorce in the movie after Gale chose to return to reporting. She had gotten a job in New York.
After Dewey's demise, Gale did step up as Sidney's surrogate big sister and protector, which I personally loved. Please reply below if you noticed this as well! I did like that she saw to it Sidney helped finish it in the end.
I agree with this being a memorial movie to the Horror Master and Scream Creator, Wes Craven. This was another reason for the tears to any die-hard Scream fan. This literally passed the torch to the new kids.
I won't go into who the killers are. That, I think, would be spoiling too much. LOL I will say that it was well worth watching and Wes would be very happy with this end result!

I'm pretty excited to see this, but I don't think it's on the (our) cinema yet. Thanks for the review!
