Alec shot me a big grin and said, "I'm glad you're enjoying them. Why don't you pick a movie to watch in the living room?"

I chewed and swallowed my mouthful and asked, "You sure?"

"Yep. It is your night so you get to pop the movie in for us to watch." Alec said.

"Thanks, Bro," I said. I picked up my plate and carried it into the living room while he was getting his own ready. I chose quickly...my favorite and popped it into the Blue Ray player. It happened to be Soul Surfer. I then settled myself on the couch and returned to eating my food.
Dad winced as the movie started playing. It was one of his favourites too; however, the day's previous events had left him feeling a little paranoid.

"Well, I certainly hope this doesn't happen to any of us", he remarked. "Although, Bethany's such an inspirational figure... maybe we could learn a thing or two from her!"
Alyssa nodded and said to her dad, "Aren't you glad I am into gymnastics and not surfing?" Her question was more a tease than a true question. Her eyes twinkled in mischief as she waited for him to respond.
Dad simply snorted at this. "Well, I don't see either of them being of much use right now, in all honesty... unless you can find a way to use your flips against these spiders and intruders and everything else that's been going on lately!"

He then turned back towards his TV set. "Anyway, we should probably just watch the movie."
Alyssa sighed and nodded. She turned her attention back to the movie.

Meanwhile downtown, Chelsea and her stepmother arrived to find out what had happened to Jay. They approached the front desk upon entering the police station. Serena(the stepmother) asked, "Excuse me. Why was my husband arrested?"

"He broke into a house tonight and frightened a teenage girl." The officer answered.

Chelsea sighed and asked, "Was it by chance Alyssa Ryan?"

He nodded which prompted her to say, "She is known for having hallucinations when there is nothing there."

"He was caught inside the house when we arrived." He said. "I can let him out for $2,000."

Serena immediately handed him the money, which he accepted. One officer went to get Jay while another officer called the Ryan household to inform them that Jay was being released.
Dad was quite irritated to have been disturbed from his movie by a phone call - and even more annoyed to find that the intruder into his house was being released. Upon putting the phone down, he paused the movie, and gestured to his children.

"Bar the door!" he ordered sharply. "Jay's been released... I don't want him coming back here!"
Alyssa shot her father a scared look. "Dad? Is he coming back for me?" She asked as she got up and both teens began working on barring the windows.

Alec glanced at his younger sister and said, "We won't let him come after you again, sis. Dad and I promise you that." He gave her a one-armed hug before they returned to what they were doing.
Fortunately, these measures proved to be completely unnecessary, as Jay didn't dare go anywhere near the house again. Indeed, after the chaos of that evening, the rest of the night was eerily silent outside... almost too silent, in fact.

The family didn't really notice until the movie ended, and they turned their TV set off. "Why's it so... quiet?" Alyssa asked awkwardly.
"This is really creepy." Alyssa couldn't help but comment.

Alec nodded and said, "It sure is." Both siblings looked at their father.

"Should we be worried?" Alyssa asked him.

"At this point, I don't know." Her father answered.

Alyssa sighed as she approached him.
Alyssa's father wasn't sure what to say or do. "Well, I would just keep a lookout, just in case..."

However, as soon as he finished speaking, the silence was broken by a harsh, metallic-sounding hum in the distance...
