"Let's head to the game room and play pool or something," Megan suggested to her best friend.
Brian had left the room to go check on Alyssa. He was worried about her.
"Okay, sounds good to me

," Jessica agreed, as she headed to the pool table, and started laying the 15 numbered balls out in the triangle, with the 8-ball in the middle. "I can never remember where any of them are supposed to go... will this do?"
Megan nodded and said, "Yeah, sure." She picked up a cue stick and chalk and then she began chalking up the blue tip.
Jessica, too, picked up a piece of chalk, and applied it liberally to the end of her own cue. Once she'd finished doing that, she grabbed a coin out of her pocket. "Heads, I break - tails, you break."
She then flipped the coin in the palm of her hand... and it landed on tails.
"Okay, you break

!"
Megan nodded and lowered the tip of the cue stick to the pool surface and she did the break. She knocked in several balls from both solids and stripes. She also happened to knock in the black 8-ball. "Lucky shot." She commented.
"Unlucky shot!" Jessica responded, with a smirk. "You do know that, if you pot the 8-ball when you still have solids or stripes to pot, then you lose the game

?"
She then started retrieving the balls from their pockets, and laying them out again. "We'd best get a new game started..."
"Actually in 8-ball if you sink it in the opening shot it's a win," Megan said with a chuckle. "Zack use to be a champion billiard player in Harrisburg."
"Hah, I'd never heard that before," Jessica chuckled. "But, fine... let's play that way

."
Once the balls were set up again, Jessica had her go at breaking... and the balls went pretty much everywhere
except into the pockets. However, she hadn't left easy pots.
"Your turn!"
Megan picked up a few which landed on the floor and then took her shot. She sunk two striped balls and then shot a grin at Jessica. "Your shot." She said.
"Good one

!" She exclaimed. "But I can do better

."
She then carefully lined up a shot, aiming at the yellow 1-ball and the red 3-ball... but, when she struck them, only the 3-ball went in.
"Ugh, I wanted both of them... but, it's something!"
