"Yes, but we like to eat our share of junkfood, too." Brian chimed in.
"Brian, if you get Chick-Fil-A Tonight, don't even think about getting pizza for your party next weekend." Josh warned him.
Brian shot him a grin and said, "Good thing Marissa is an excellent cook."
"Smartass." Josh said, but even he had to chuckle at his son. He noticed the questioning look so he added, "Marissa is Brian's stepmother."
"Don't worry, I'm sure I'll pick up on all of this

," Dad pointed out. "Although, if you're having Chick-Fil-A... can you get me a grilled chicken sandwich too, please? I could really do with something nice after all of this

!!!!"
Brian grinned and said, "No problem." He then went around getting everybody's orders before he used his cellphone to call in the order for everybody. He arranged to have the order delivered by a friend of his who works there. "Food should be here in about twenty minutes."
"Sounds great." Alec said. "Thanks, Brian."
"No problem." Brian said to his friend. "I ordered a burger and fries with a chocolate shake for Alyssa."
"That sounds good. Thanks, Brian." Alyssa said as she joined them.
However, twenty minutes later, the food was nowhere to be seen. "No big deal," Dad thought, "they're probably just running late."
But then, after a further ten minutes... there was still no food on their doorstep. At this point, Dad felt he had to take action.
"Brian... perhaps you should check again?"
Brian called them back and discovered someone had cancelled their food order and his family's DoorDash account. He angrily attempted to set up a new account but they said they were told not to due to something the caller had told them. He slammed the phone down and then said to the others, "Looks like Marissa will be cooking! Some idiot called and not only cancelled our order. They also told them something which cancelled our account with them amd we can't create a new one!"
Alyssa heard this and knew right away what had happened. "They are getting to you all because of me.." She said and then raced outside. "You want me?! Come and get me! Don't go attacking my friends just to get even with me! Freaking coward!"
"NO!" Dad called immediately. "Come back! It's too dangerous!!!"
However, when Alyssa didn't return inside, Dad rushed out and grabbed her arm. "You can't do it... not on your own! If you're going, then so will I!"
This time he did turn around. Noticing her fatherr there, too he kept his distance though so he wasn't in plain view.
"Leave me and my friends alone!" She shouted at him angrily.
Dad made sure his gun was loaded, and hid it away as best he could - being prepared to fire it if necessary.
"Show yourself!" he screamed into the darkness. "Come out, you coward - and show yourself!!!"
At this point, Alec also decided that he should protect his family - and he took his position just out of sight, behind the pair of them...
The person in the bushes raced off, not bothering to make himself known. He wasn't fazed by anyone's words.
Alyssa sighed and muttered, "Damn it."
Dad just stood there, and shook his head slowly.
"Come..." he instructed, as he took his children's hands and turned around. "Let's go back inside... there's nothing left to do out here..."
