The person had ducked quickly into the bushes and out of the back gate. He hurried into the next yard and darted away to a waiting vehicle. This vehicle sped off quickly and was gone in seconds before the person could be caught.
"Argh

," Dad lamented. "Stupid sod got away!"
He then turned towards Alyssa and Alec, and shrugged. "Well, no point in chasing him... honestly, I'm quite glad he's gone. But I guess we should try calling the police..."
Alyssa sighed and muttered, "I really want this all done and over with." She then started to head towards her bedroom. It all is proving to be too much for her to deal with.
Alec sighed as he watched her walk off. "I am really starting to worry about her." He commented to his father.
"Yes, so am I..." Dad responded, finding it very difficult to bear his daughter's suffering. "Unfortunately, there's not a not we can do... especially if he keeps running away like this. Best we can do is get the cops on his case... or just hope he comes back and we can shoot him or something

..."
"Its better to stay close to Alyssa until this is all over and they catch this creep." Alec said. "We know he is after her." He sounded worried about his sister.
"Yes... and definitely don't move from this building," Dad confirmed. "As for Alyssa, perhaps we should put her somewhere where they can't see her... where would be the best place for that?"
"My room is next to yours and hass no real windows except for a darkened one. Maybe move her into there and I can take the one on the other side of yours so we all stick close together." Alec suggested.
Brian had returned to check in on them after making his rounds around the property. His father was with them.
"Are you all okay?" Josh asked, worriedly.
Alec sighed and said, "We're hanging in there but this is getting dangerous."
Josh then turned to Alec's father. "Maybe you three should stay inside the mansion with us until this is over...for your personal safety." He suggested. "We have plenty of room."
"Yes... that sounds like a good idea," Dad agreed. "But... is there any place in the mansion where they can't see us? And do we have to go outside in order to get there? Because if we do, then I'd much rather not leave here at all, to be honest

..."
"Not a problem. If we have to we can order Doordash for meals or just cook at home. As far as school goes, they can do cyber for awhile." Josh said.
"Yeah, assuming Doordash is still running through all of this," Dad pointed out. "For all we know, they're having problems too... but, it's certainly worth a try. Although, I'm sure the pantry in here will do us for quite a long time, won't it
