MasterChef Junior star Ben Watkins has died aged 14 from a rare form of cancer, his family has confirmed.
The young chef, who appeared on the US version of the popular cooking show in 2018, died on Monday.
TV chef Gordon Ramsay, one of the show's judges, described Ben as "an incredibly talented home cook and even stronger young man".
Ben came from tragic circumstances, having lost his mother and father in a murder-suicide three years ago.
There are some headlines that it really hurts to type out... and, I'm afraid to say, this is one of them
. His story is an extremely tragic one - not only losing both of his parents at such a young age, but then passing away when he still had his whole life ahead of him. Furthermore, he clearly had great talent and potential as a chef - and, sadly, that will never be realised.
