I remember noticing something on twitter about a certain Jeopardy round a few months around the time the last Super Bowl came around. This was pretty funny as a casual American Football fan.

On the UK revival of
Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, the "Ask the Host" lifeline was pretty unhelpful at times (although, this probably says more about Jeremy Clarkson's general knowledge than about the basic concept of the lifeline
).
However, let's not forget, the "Ask the Audience" lifeline could be even
less helpful at times:
Then there was an even worse case on the French version of the show, where the audience stumbled on a pretty basic astronomy question. (Basically, "What orbits the Earth? A. The Moon, B. The Sun, C. Mars, D. Venus")
