"On film, who escaped from jail in a hot air balloon by distracting the guards with a hologram of himself playing chess?"

The answer was Lex Luthor, but I came up with... Andy Dufresne.

Escape from prison? Yes. Playing chess? Yes. Hot air balloon? NO .

KIFAIL

Also, hologram... NO.

Now I'm imagining a Shawshank Redemption sequel in which the guards discover that the Andy Dufresne they imprisoned was just a hologram - and the real Andy is still at large somewhere.

I think that's almost as bad as the "Turbo-charged rock hammer" dream I had a while ago !

Another ridiculous one, from The Weakest Link just now:

One from The Chase today:

The contestant gave the correct answer 'Ireland', and went on to win their round. But then, the next contestant was a woman with an obviously-Irish accent... who explained that she works for crisp manufacturer Tayto .

Just imagine if she had got that question that was ready-made for her!!!

Now another of my own.

On Pointless, there was a round where the contestants had to fill in the blanks in nursery rhymes. For example, one of them was:

The correct answer was 'Tommy', but I came up with... Malcolm .

Another one, from Richard Osman's House of Games.

The contestants were asked to name chemical elements without the letter 'I' (so, for example, 'Gold', 'Lead' and 'Oxygen' would be valid answers). However, the first contestant said... Iron.

Now, I should clarify that this was multiple-choice (with the choices being various random objects), so it's not like the contestant came up with 'Typewriter' out of nowhere. But still, why choose 'Typewriter' ???
