Weird. It is kinda sad, considering they're social animals - but, I guess you have to at some point, otherwise you'll be stuck with at least two guinea pigs forever!

(Or, if you only have one left and don't want to get another one, would you just take it to a rescue shelter?)

It would be animal welfare people complaining, if anything. I would surmise that yes, you'd have to get an additional guinea pig, or give it up for adoption. I'm sure most individuals would just get another one; they love their babies.
Yeah, that's what we did when one of our first two died. Then, the other original one died two weeks later, so we ended up having to get another new one!
Okay, back to interesting facts :P

The current 50-star flag of the United States was designed by 17-year-old Robert G. Heft as a school project in 1958. His teacher gave him a B- for the project, but jokingly offered to increase it to an A if the flag ended up being chosen by Congress. In the end, his flag was the one adopted - and, consequently, Heft's teacher raised his grade to an A.

After the death of John McCain this year, I noticed that he'd been outlived by his mother. At time of writing, she's 106 years old (she was born on 7th February 1912).

Between 1987 and 2018, McCain represented Arizona in the US Senate. This state was the 48th to be admitted to the Union, on 14th February 1912.

That is, his mother is older than the state he represented :O !

Thanks!

I wonder who was the last senator from the 48 contiguous states to be older than the state he/she represented? (Of current senators, Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Mazie Hirono (D-HI) are both older than the states they represent, but that's not really surprising as both Alaska and Hawaii are still less than 60 years old)
The Action Set, (NES bundle) retailing in 1988 for US$149.99, came with the Control Deck, two game controllers, an NES Zapper, and a dual Game Pak containing both Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt.

$150 bucks back in 1988 was a lot, I bet.
