I didn’t know where to post this. It’s freaky.

Have you ever remembered something, and were so positive of this memory, only to one day find out it wasn’t true and that memory never happened? Welcome to the Mandela Effect.

I think you posted this in the correct place :) . "Intellectual Curiosity Chamber" is probably the best place for any high-brow stuff that doesn't fit into any of the other Topical Discussion forums!

But, I've run into stuff like this a couple of times. For example, I remember very clearly a Hot Wheels ad for a series of realistic-looking Formula One cars, and thinking they looked awesome. However, I only saw the ad once: it never got played again, and I never saw these cars in any toy stores anywhere. Searching online hasn't helped either - but, even so, I'm sure I didn't just dream it!

(Also, I'm still sure I've seen various references over the years to an artist named 'Kunst'. I did eventually find that this was just the German word for 'art'; however, I'm sure I have recollections of there being a specific artist with that name :-/ ...)
Whoa, that's strange indeed.

I don't think anything different has happened to me, but like on that list, I remember the Berenstain Bears being Berenstein. Creepy. shudder

I have gotten deja vu before, and that's weird and creepy as well.
Here's another possible example I've just remembered:

I'm sure I've seen Spanish-speaking people saying "jabi verde" in order to wish people a happy birthday. Not the correct Spanish "feliz cumpleaños", but this dumb-sounding Hispanicized version of the English greeting. I even recall hearing that it was something specific to Latin America, which doesn't happen in Spain. However, when I type "jabi verde" into Google, I get nothing that has anything to do with birthdays.

Maybe it's something that one of my friends did once just to be dumb, or maybe I'm just making the whole thing up. I don't know!

Anyone with decent geography knowledge would know there are 50 states... people are not very smart. Also I always knew Curious George never had a tail. Used to be obsessed with that monkey. Some of these Mandela Effects seemed to have never happened to me.
I've certainly never heard of anyone saying there were 52 states!

I once thought there were 51 because a list of US states in a book I used to read a lot had 51 entries - but I believe one of them was the District of Columbia.
the US would have 51 if puerto rico was officially added as a state, as it is puerto rico is a territory though technically it is a state and members of puerto rico have US citizenship iirc.

Not really had any of this happen to me, most stuff i remember or have happen that i knew about ahead of time i actually had dreams of. it can be a bit odd to me but it does happen on occasion.
Yeah, that one's weird too - although, I don't recall having any instances of that myself :P .

I wonder whether that has its own name?
it might? though im not sure if it does, i guess in a way its a premonition? but not sure if its that either.
Isn’t Puerto Rico going to be the 51st state? Maybe that’s why people are confused about “52 states”.
