"Okay... you're clearly not fine..." Lydia responded, with a sigh. "If you were fine, you wouldn't be pushing me away like this..."
"So... what do we do next?" Jocelyn asked. "Is there anything in there that's worth keeping at all, or do we just wipe the whole lot?"
“The memories of his mom and stuff is keep. The girls…probably should be erased or at least blocked.” Cassandra said.
”I’m not doing anything.” Kyle said. “…y…you should just have someone better. Someone normal.”
"But you have to at least
try to do things," Lydia urged. "If you don't make an effort, then things
aren't going to get better. You can't just waste your life like this, lying in bed all day..."
Jocelyn blushed, and looked away. "Yeah, definitely... especially if he has any involving me
..."
“I’ll just leave the ones about his mother and guards and such I guess.” Cassandra said placing her hands back on Jake’s head.
”I have been trying. Plus not like I can do anything if I can’t even stand on my own.” Kyle said.
"Oh come on," Lydia snapped. "Stop trying to turn 'not being able to stand' into a core part of your identity. Because it isn't: you'll be able to do it again if you practice... might take a day or two, but you have to keep trying..."
"Okay..." Jocelyn gulped. "Thanks a lot... and once you're done, can you erase my memories of him too, please?"
“I suppose if you really want.” Cassandra said as she began to erase some of Jake’s memories.
”And I said I have been!” Kyle snapped. “I fall down every time so why bother?”
"Thanks..." Jocelyn responded, with a sigh of relief. "Will I have to pay for it at all?"
"Well, you need to keep trying..." Lydia repeated. "I know it's hard... I know it's frustrating... but eventually, you'll find you can do it. Or if you really can't, perhaps Meriandra will have something that can help you..."
Kyle snorted. “What a wheelchair again?”
Cassandra shook her head as she finished with Jake. “No, of course not.”
"No, I didn't mean it like that..." Lydia clarified. "I was thinking more like some braces or crutches... something like that..."
The plushie simply looked around blankly, not recognising anything or anybody.
Cassandra watched Jake. “Jake do you remember anything about your mom?”
”I’ll still look stupid.” Kyle said sighing.
