OOc: thank you so much, I meant to join a long time ago and forgot. Can’t wait to start! Hopefully sometime tonight.
Felix spent the rest of the day beavering away with his research in the library. Sadly, it wasn't the most productive of days, since the books he read mostly contained the basic facts that he already knew. Some pages were filled with sketches of golden statues and ornaments - which looked fabulous, but they weren't really what he was there to research.

In the end, a rather disappointed Felix gave up and headed off to lunch. In the queue ahead of him, he noticed another of his friends: a slightly feminine-looking man with an eagle-shaped ring, embellished with jasper.

"Good afternoon, Jay :) !" Felix greeted her. "I hope you're having a fine day, because I'm certainly not. Lola humiliated me at breakfast, and the books I read in the rest of the morning contained nothing useful to me :( ... how about yourself?"
Lola waited for at least fifteen minutes inside the cupboard. It was dark, but her bat gem allowed her to have a vague idea of what was going on outside. There was a lot of movement outside as students walked across the hall, but the loud stomps of the irate professor seemed to have gone completely.

After taking out her scrunchie in an attempt to make her hair look different, she sneaked out of the cupboard and began to leg it back to her room.
"Hi, Felix! How are you doing to today?" Jay fiddled with his eagle ring. He stared at it, looking at its beautiful blue translucence and a tiny white cameo of a Harpy Eagle inside it. "My ring is acting strange lately. It's been glowing off and on! I'm not sure what that means. Do you?"
"Sorry, can't help," Felix answered apologetically. "I'd love to investigate it, but the events of this morning have left me behind on my studies. I'm going to have to go to the Bodleian this afternoon... I hope they have something more useful to me! Perhaps you should come with me to see whether they have anything that could help with your issue?"
Running and panting for breath, Lola finally made it back to her room. She'd wasted far too much of the day now, and besides all that she was sweating, tired and still annoyed at her class for 'changing rooms without telling her'. That, and she now couldn't find her book.

She dropped down onto her bed, muttering to herself what she would do to Felix when she next saw him. A few minutes later - rant over - she was up again, and resolving to go to the Bodleian to check out another copy of Emma.
Unfortunately for Felix, Jay didn't seem interested in going to the Bodleian - and so, after lunch, he was forced to make the trip alone. On the plus side, his lunch had rejuvenated him: it was a simple bread roll and tomato soup, but at least he didn't get any of the soup over his face: unlike breakfast, this meal passed without incident.

By the time he reached the Bodleian, he noticed that Lola was already present, with her head buried in a copy of Emma. After what she'd done at breakfast, he wasn't sure whether it was safe to approach her - so, he simply walked past and pretended not to notice her, leaving it up to her to decide whether or not to react to his presence.
Lola had been enjoying her book, and fawning over Mr. Knightley all over again. Then Felix walked by. She always recognised him by the tweed jacket he wore. His failure to notice her caused her to lift her head. What? Why didn't he stop? She thought he'd at least be cross with her. Ugh...now she couldn't concentrate on her book.

Closing it abruptly, she got up and walked towards Felix. She wanted to call him a dork, but after the incident with the lecturer, she decided that being in people's good books was more fun. Besides, he looked a bit glum on his own, and she'd already got him back this morning.

"Fancy seeing you here. I didnae expect to see you."

She noticed that he wasn't too pleased to see her. His eyes betrayed a scowl of sorts, so she went for the most apologetic smile she could muster up.

"A'm...sorry about the mornin'. If it makes you feel better, I ran into the wrong class and had a good hiding from a maths lecturer. Lost me book and a'. Got this nice, shiny one though. You lookin' f'r anythin' here?"
Jay was too distracted to even know what his friend was up to, so he decided to go to the library by himself. The ring fit snug on his finger, so he had no way of taking it off and studying it fully. Damn, this sucks. I wonder if there's any way of taking it off? I would love to see it more in depth! he thought to himself, as he went back to his flat.

Of course, his pearl cockatiel, Pearly, greeted him as he went through the door. The beautiful yellow and cinnamon bird with orange cheeks flew to him, landing on his shoulder. He gave her scritches and thought about his next plan.

I have to think of something... who can I go to?
OOC: Sorry, I didn't realise it was my turn :( !

BIC: As Lola apologised for the events of the morning, the red mist in Felix's eyes began to clear up, and his typical cheeky smile was restored to his face.

"It's okay, I forgive you," he responded softly. "It's just, after this morning, I've fallen behind on my studies. I had been hoping to read through three full texts on the cultural practices of the Mayan and Olmec civilisations, in particular to see if I could find any references to this piece of butterfly jewellery... but, sadly, I haven't even been able to find one suitable work yet :( . Do you happen to know where I might be able to find any?"
