Aliana was mildly relieved to see Kyle was awake and had made some improvement, however slight. Still, it didn't look as though he would be ready to attempt anything for himself today.
"Good morning
," Aliana greeted him. "How are you doing today? And how is Squeaks?"
"He's better than me. At least he can do stuff." Kyle mumbled, with a sigh.
Meriandra spotting her sister came over. "He's a bit better then yesterday, but it'll still take some time. Probably a few doses of the anti-depressions."
"Okay, makes sense
," Aliana acknowledged, with a nod, before turning to Kyle.
"In the mean time, is there anything that I can do to cheer you up? Or should I just go back downstairs?"
"Not really..." Kyle said with a sigh, looking at Squeaks instead of Aliana. Squeaks too looked worried about Kyle squeaking and looking upset.
"Oh, okay..." Aliana mumbled sadly. "Well, I suppose I'll see you later..."
Another week passed - and it was awfully monotonous for Aliana. She did go back to her dad's studying to become a ruler; however, she didn't get very far with it, since Kyle was always at the forefront of her mind. She did visit him a couple of times - but, sadly, he wasn't much better, and he ended up turning her away after a few minutes.
However, now that she'd given him another week, she hoped that he would begin to show some signs of improvement. She made her way down to the hospital once again - and greeted Kyle, who was still asleep in his bed.
Kyle was still sound asleep, snoring softly.
Lydia went over to Aliana. "Um...hello..." she glanced at Kyle a moment. "He's actually doing a bit better. He doesn't seem so down..."
"Oh?" Aliana replied, perking up a little bit. "What exactly do you mean? Has he attempted to walk or eat or anything like that yet? Or, if not... then, do you think he'll be ready today?"
Lydia shook her head. “No. But he doesn’t seem quite so depressed. We haven’t pushed him to do anything yet...we didn’t want him to get frustrated by it too soon. Though he might be ready soon.” Lydia said. “Your sister caught him trying to write in his journal. We haven’t seen him try once...she said he looked really frustrated, but he kept at it for a bit”
Aliana chuckled lightly, and carefully slid the journal out of Kyle's pocket. She decided she'd probably take a quick peek inside it before he woke up.
She opened the journal in the middle, and flicked all the way to the latest entry.
The hand writing was horrid, not as good as Kyle usually could write. Somehow Aliana could still read it:
”I really hate this...I wish I could do stuff again. Feels like I’ll never get better...but...guess I still have to try even though I don’t want to.”
