"Well, with him and his temper, gentle will be difficult," Aliana admitted candidly. "But I'll try."
"Thanks," Nestor panted wearily. "Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to get back to my sleep. See you later
!"
Nestor then devised another cunning scheme to keep himself in bed. This time, instead of tying his tail directly to the bed post, he tied one end of a piece of rope around his tail, and the other end around the bed post. This way, if the rope got stuck, he could simply use his dagger to cut himself free.
Once again, Nestor lay down and went to sleep, secure in the knowledge that he would stay securely fastened in bed.
“When is he coming here anyway?” Gloriana asked.
Luckily for Nestor all seemed quiet for a while so he could sleep finally.
"Probably in a few days' time," Aliana answered. "Dad's gone off to watch over him for a while - and, once I've got my team fully assembled, I'm going to head over to get him back
. But I'll probably have to agree the exact timing with Mum... we'll need to prepare a guest room or something, after all."
“...hm right...he’ll probably be real weak for a long time. Usually in the cases I’ve heard they remain like that for the most part.” She said with a sigh.
"Well, I'm glad I'll have your support," Aliana responded, smiling. "Anyway, I suppose I should get back to business now. See you later
!"
Unfortunately for Aliana, the rest of the afternoon wasn't particularly successful. She tried asking head chef Juliana; retired doctor Anastasia; and about a dozen guards. However, nobody was really willing to help out with Kyle: Anastasia was willing to cover for Meriandra and Lydia while they were helping, but that was it.
Of course, Nestor had it much worse. When he woke up, he found that he was unable to untie his rope... and he'd stupidly left his dagger at the opposite end of the room, just out of reach.
"HELP ME!!!!!!" Nestor wailed, not for the first time that evening.
Someone came in looking irritated. “What now? Be quiet!”
Nestor sheepishly explained his entire predicament.
"I'm so sorry... after last time, when I fell out of bed in my sleep... and the time after that, when I got my tail tied around my bed post... I thought I should instead tie my tail to the bed with this rope. Unfortunately, I can't get it off, and my sword is at the opposite end of the room... do you think you could help me? Pweeeease
?"
The man sighed. He went and grabbed his own dagger from his pocket before cutting Nestor free.
"Thanks
!" Nestor responded appreciatively. "You know, I think I'm going to complain about this..."
Nestor charged along the deck, still with one end of the rope tied around his tail, and raced up three ladders until he reached the office of the first mate. Then, without even knocking, he simply tore the door open and stormed in.
"My room needs a new bed," Nestor demanded angrily. "My one's dangerous!"
The first mate sighed, looking at Nestor. "And why is your bed dangerous?" he asked calmly.
