So, I thought we could do with a thread about the 2018-19 UEFA Champions League, which is currently in its group stages. (Yes, I know: just as I get rid of the Football sub-forum, I end up starting a whole slew of football threads. Funny how that pans out  !)

Anyway, on their way to a 6-0 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk, Manchester City managed to earn a bizarre penalty, thanks to Raheem Sterling falling on his own:

I do hope this was just an accident, and not a deliberate dive. Either way, you'd think VAR would have resolved this incident quite easily (the Champions League doesn't have it yet; it'll start using it next year).

Regardless, the scoreline is sure to please !
Let's be fair, they were up against Shakhtar Donetsk, the only real problem we have in the group stage is Lyon, and MCFC lost to them xd. 6-0 is still impressive though.
Moving away from Man Cit, but to their rival.

Unreal United, you won against Ronaldo and Juventus...
That OG really shouldn't have happened but it did...

I'll give you credit, you still beat Ronaldo...
Decisions like the Sterling "penalty" really makes me question what the hell is the point of behind the goal officials. The guys with the closest views to some incidents and still makes mistakes like that? VAR can't come soon enough!
Tonight's fixtures are:
Real Madrid vs Ajax
Dortmund vs Tottenham
And Real Madrid are out, after losing 4-1 to Ajax :O :

It's the end of an era for the club - as it puts them out of the Champions League for the first time since 2015. Manager Santiago Solari has said he won't resign; however, that hasn't stopped speculation about his potential replacement.
The recent results are:
Real Madrid: 1.  Ajax: 4
Dortmund: 0.   Tottenham: 1
Porto: 3.   Roma: 1
PSG: 1.   Manchester United: 3
Well, following Real Madrid's defeat, Solari's gone, and Zinedine Zidane will be returning to the club to replace him:

Of course, Zidane has guided Real Madrid to their greatest heights in the past (he was leading them until Solari took over 10 months ago) - but, past performance isn't necessarily a guarantor of future success. So, will he be able to re-capture that magic?
Well, here's a scoreline that's sure to please :

Manchester City 7 - 0 FC Schalke 04

:O
To be honest, I thought that Schalke was gonna put up a fight.
Shame tho.
Props to Schalke tho. They at least made it to the knockout stage.

Onwards City!
Tonight's Champions League results are:
